The Golden Danube
You've heard the "Blue Danube" by Strauss, but have you traveled the Golden Danube? That's how Jules Verne described the fabled river, in a novel never before translated into English, taking the reader all the way from Germany to the Black Sea, and encountering smugglers on the way.

“A true ‘time lost’ literary treasure, this newly available work of the legendary French author, Jules Verne, ‘Golden Danube’, is an extraordinarily entertaining novel that has stood up well to the test of time . . . A ‘must read’ for the legion of Jules Verne fans and will prove to be an enduringly popular addition to personal and community library collections.”—Midwest Book Review, Reviewer’s Bookwatch — Mason’s BookshelfVol. 14, No. 4, April 2014

Around the World in 80 Days--The 1874 Play
Everyone knows the Jules Verne's adventure novel of a journey around the world, in 80 Days, but that's not all. Jules Verne also wrote a version of his novel for the stage, and it became one of the 19th century's great theatrical spectacles, with a cast of thousands and a live elephant on stage! And in adapting his novel, Verne made many changes, with additional characters, new places to visit, all ending on not one but three weddings!

“I heartily recommend Verne’s original play to everyone--it is far different than the novel and the history of the play’s success worldwide is a large slice of American history.” —John Goodwin, Emmy Award-winning Makeup Artist and Verne enthusiast

The Count of Chanteleine

Will the Count and his daughter escape the Reign of Terror, or fall under the blade of the guillotine? Here is a novel akin to The Scarlet Pimpernel or A Tale of Two Cities, but the author is Jules Verne, who brought you Around the World in eighty days.  Verne brings to life a real incident of the French Revolution, in a vivid, fast-moving swashbuckler.

And enjoy the novel in a dynamic reading by vocal artist Fred Frees!

Bandits & Rebels

You know about Captain Nemo and the Nautilus . . . now, for the first time, read science fiction master Jules Verne's first story of a submersible. In the same volume, too, are his prophetic words about the future of the submarine as a tool of war. Rounding out this book is a historical adventure of Garibaldi's rebels fighting the pope's European allies as he attempts to return to the holy see in 1849.

“It’s a fascinating book, especially Verne’s ruminations about the future of submarine warfare.” —Larry Brooks, Disney’s 20,000 Leagues yahoo group moderator
