What the world needs now is Jackie Deshannon and some legendary detectives!
On Sept. 27, online Radio's Dave White Presents welcomes singer/songwriter Jackie Deshannon! She has a new album out, When You Walk in the Room, where she re-visits songs that made her famous, both those she sang and those she wrote. What the World Needs Now, Put a Little Love in Your Heart, Needles and Pins, Bette Davis Eyes, and When You Walk in the Room are among the melodies we'll discuss, both the original hits and her new interpretations. We'll play two samples as well!
Then, Dave White talks with author Michael Hoey about his new book, Sherlock Holmes & the Fabulous Faces - The Universal Pictures Repertory Company. Two of the faces are, of course, Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce. But what about the 68 players whose names appeared in small print in the titles under the names of the stars?
Lastly, COLUMBO co-creator William Link returns to DWP in the second part of his interview remembering his friend, Peter Falk. In this anecdote fest, Link talks about what happens when a TV star wants to try his hand at directing with very comic results. What did the two men share after the end of the series?
